For the purpose of inculcating the qualities of environmental protection and enrichment among the children of primary and secondary schools, schools should be asked to organize various activities at the school level on a theme-wise basis with one topic per week under the Eco Club.
According to which the children 15/06/2024, from Saturday 22/06/2024, to organize week celebration at school level under “ECO CLUBS FOR MISSION LIFE” during Saturday, in which one topic/theme per day viz.

Save Water Campaign,

Adopting a healthy lifestyle
To make students aware of how to preserve the environment by organizing a free walk in the vicinity of nature for the students.
To make the students aware of the different plants of the local area and conduct a tree plantation campaign.
Visiting a nearby village and local tourist spot, in which groups of students are assigned different tasks, such as botany, history of the area, geography, local customs and traditions, without handicrafts.
Acceptance of nutritious food
To create and maintain a kitchen garden in the school premises and assign its management and responsibility to the students.
To encourage students to grow different edible plants using old buckets, plastic bottles and earthen pots in nearby places where space is available if space is not available in the school premises.
Use compost made from wet waste for medicinal plants, avoid use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
To encourage students to be environment friendly by using wet waste. E.g. Bio Enzymes for the Kitchen Garden.
To prepare the details of the monthly production of the plants grown in the school premises. The product can be used internally as a PM nutrition meal or distributed among students.
Competitions can be organized to explain the lifelong health benefits and environmental laws of using these grains to students in their diet.
To encourage students to create and maintain a kitchen garden at their own home.
Proper disposal of electronic waste
Conduct e-waste collection drives for proper disposal and recycling of electronic waste.
Designating e-waste collection points in school to dispose of old electronic goods.
School management committee to arrange for safe disposal of collected items with authorized e-waste dealer and maintain records thereof.
Schools can organize educational demonstrations to explain the harmful effects of e-waste on the earth and reduce waste,
Organizing a cleanliness campaign by mobilizing students and the public to determine everyone’s responsibility towards the environment.
Teach students to separate litter for proper litter disposal.
Installation of two-bin system in each classroom for wet and dry waste.
One wet waste bin can be kept between three/four classrooms if the volume of wet waste is not high.
To arrange a bin in the toilet for used sanitary napkins, diapers etc. or suitable local conditions for their disposal,
Each trash can has a ‘What can be put in?’ Place signs such as so that students can decide what can be put in each trash can.
Compost pits can be made for segregation of waste in school premises and compost produced in kitchen gardens can be used.

Forming an Energy Team within the Eco-Club. After the school closes, the team conducts drills to ensure that all electronic devices are switched off
UT registers Eco-Club team members for this exercise and felicitates children at school level for their own energy saving efforts.
Planning can be done to create knowledge on innovative sources of energy with the help of NGOs, Energy Department etc.
To create awareness about the importance of energy conservation, posters, banners and other visual materials can be made and displayed on school notice boards.
To give information about the importance and use of solar panels. To get basic information by contacting the house or organization where the solar panels are installed in the village.
Efforts should be made to reduce school electricity bills and use solar energy generating units at school level.
Save Water Campaign
To reduce the wastage of water in the school by using the clush system and making the school eco-club team to ensure that there is no leakage in the water pipes.
Arrangements can be made in school labs where students and teachers can take water from nearby water storage and test the purity of the water.
A water conservation rally can be organized along with the public.
To inform the water conservation practices adopted in the past and how students can be made more active in saving water.
Organizing awareness rally about rain water harvesting system and its laws,
If any water leakage problem is found in the school, planning to take immediate action to solve it, making available basic equipment resources at the school level. To try to make children aware by engaging in these processes.
